About

VP of Engineering @ JOOR

It all started with War Games; I watched Matthew Broderick hacking a phone, and it looked reeeeeeally cool.

So I first started breaking stuff (I called it research). Then I got my Spectrum 48k at 6, and... voila, suddenly I knew what I wanted to do for a living.

I studied for a bachelor's and master's in Computer Science at the University of Oviedo and then started working.

After 20 years in the business, I've done pretty much everything: research, data analysis, consulting, freelancing as a software architect, building a company from scratch, and, lastly, shaping remote and efficient engineering organizations (30 to 50 people).

Now, I focus on getting the optimal balance between devs happiness & business efficiency by making things as lean as possible.

I still dedicate 20% of my time to coding, to stay technically relevant and support my engineering team better, but finally, because I genuinely enjoy it.
